Decree on Eligible Areas

The decree ‘Discipline for the identification of surfaces and areas suitable for the installation of renewable energy plants’ has been published in the Official Gazette, thus laying down the rules for choosing where to install plants, wind, photovoltaic, etc.

The measure provides broad decision-making powers for the regions, which will have 180 days from the publication of the decree to establish their own criteria for identifying useful sites. The criteria adopted will prevail over any existing regional, provincial or municipal regulations.
